Dear Shareholders and Customers,
On the behalf of all the staff members of Meritz Securities Co. Ltd.,
we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support
over the past year.
During the previous year we have continued to make our managerial
practices more transparent by separating our management team from
the board of directors and by reorganizing our company structure for
more rapid and efficient decision-making.
We have also recruited the most qualified and talented employees in
the industry. Meritz has taken great strides in accomplishing its
goal of becoming a world-class securities company that maximizes value
for our shareholders and profits for our customers. Amid the current
challenging market environment, Meritz continues to steadily pursue
its goal of becoming a leading financial firm both domestically and
internationally.
By responding rapidly and efficiently to changes in the market, we
will continue to expand our business, enhance profitability and offer
superior customer service. The following are the goals that we will
focus on during the coming year:
First, we will seek to increase our profitability by combining our
strengths. We will also seek to enhance the competitiveness of our
retail and institutional businesses by emphasizing our online services.
Second, we will diversify our sources of income by developing new
financial services and products. We have created a new department
that will be in charge of International Business, Derivatives, Proprietary
Trading and Venture Capital. We have also established an investment
advisory company. In addition, our existing financial products and
corporate finance units have been restructured and expanded. We will
continue to seek more stable income sources by expanding into other
business fields.
Third, we will offer the best customer service in the Industry. We
will launch a company-wide campaign to provide outstanding service
to our customers. To accomplish this ambitious goal, we will continue
to maximize our customers' satisfaction by quickly anticipating and
responding to their needs.
The current state of the financial sector is full of challenges and
uncertainties. In such an environment, we believe that our confidence
to thrive in such an unforgiving climate is our greatest strength.
We are fully confident in the ability of our employees to propel Meritz
to the forefront of the domestic financial industry.
